School year wrap up

This was Max's last year in elementary school... He had a great spring quarter, with Outdoor School,  fun recycling art projects, the Science Fair (the power of vacuum was his topic), cool recycling projects for both boys (check out those murals, made from bottle caps!), and finally 6th grade graduation. This year especially, I wanted to practically kiss the office staff at his school for keeping him safe at school our first in-person year back to school with diabetes. These women are angels. Off to take a middle school tour!

Marin won 1st place in her Principles of Engineering class hydrogen fuel cell car design and race. She was the only girl in a class of 35 boys! The only sophomore in a room of upperclassmen. We learned later she was actually scheduled for the wrong class all year and accidentally skipped the Intro to Engineering class... So not only did she excel, she did so without the prerequisite! Sometimes if you aren't aware of your limitations, you can go even farther than you even knew possible. In other news, in her Health class, she had to create and care for a pair of "twins" which was hilarious. Once in awhile she asked me to hold my "grandchildren"...
