Happy Mother's Day

I had a beautiful day with my loves, including breakfast in bed, a little hike with the crew, no cooking ALL DAY (can I get an amen)... I love my family so much! So thankful God allowed me to be a mother to four beautiful children, how did I get so lucky?!

This N That

A little roundup of random moments from the last few months! We have been ecstatic to get the four oldest in our crew vaccinated for COVID, waiting patiently for the younger two to get their chance. The end of this lockdown life is in sight! Marin got her driver's permit (100% on the written test... she astonishes me!), puzzles, a new desk for Mom, school, selfies, holidays, our 21st anniversary, walks with grandparents. We are blessed in this crazy life!

I think he's doing school under there

Gran gave us these "2000" flutes for our wedding
I've never been more thankful for science!

Drive-through COVID vaccination! Brilliant.

Photography

One of Maddie's electives this year in online school, is Digital Photography. She has become quite the artist with lots of creativity and skill. Now I just hand my phone to her and have her take all the pictures! Some of these were for assignments, with a theme. My favorite is Marcus on the trampoline, totally zen... I also love the ones of Marin as "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast (another theme).

Tulips and Family Time

The girls and I trekked up north to meet my mom and sister, for a tour of the tulip farms in Mt. Vernon. It was a fast and furious weekend, with many unexpected extra hours on the freeway, some sketchy weather, a quick tour of some beautiful flowers, some quick hugs from my sister and niece, then a very relaxing evening and morning with my parents at Camano. The time with these special people was the absolute highlight!!

The boys at home having pizza and root beer!

Happy Easter

This Easter, we had a strange feeling... For a lot of us, this was the first "second repeat holiday in quarantine" because it had finally been a full year of this pandemic. Last year at Easter, this was all new and we were so shocked to not be gathering with our family, church, friends at this special holiday. Little did we know, a year later, a lot of us would be in the same boat. Very strange feeling to be circling an entire year... A year later though, our family knows even better how to roll on our own if necessary. We are so excited to hopefully be with others next year. We had a feast, did an Easter Egg hunt, searched the house for hidden Easter baskets, spent some Good Friday moments reading about what Jesus went through around the campfire, and celebrating that HE IS RISEN together on Easter morning!

Also, every year we remember that on Easter Sunday 2010, God healed baby Max. He was in the hospital with a mystery illness, and literally experienced a miracle. It was not lost on me, that this past January, when I made that same drive to Randall Children's Hospital, with my now 11 year old Max, walking through the same ER, being admitted to the same hospital... It was not lost on me that God has brought him back from the brink more than once, and the same God who saw fit to do that several times before, will be faithful to my son even as he lives with diabetes.

Romans 8:11 "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you"
