Let the fall begin!

Busy fall has begun!

We got a fun surprise at the park recently with my moms group. The firetrucks were doing some drills, and when they saw all our kids come running they very graciously offered to let the kids explore the truck and take a picture! Love those guys!

The backyard is a source of never-ending treasures... Some edible, some not :)

My friend Sommer welcomed her baby girl Jewel into the world, and we had a fun baby shower at our house. Jewel and her mommy are SUCH a pair of beauties. LOVE those two.

We've had a big milestone around here. Our oldest, Marin, started preschool this year. Smiles, tears, and excitement galore. What a special thing for Marin to get her very own activity, separate from her brother and sister. Maddie is excited to have some special Mommy time too :) The schoolgirl's request for breakfast, her favorite: Rice Krispies!

Kyle was extremely, extremely excited about the Washington Huskies' win over USC. So much so that he took SEVERAL pictures of the TV screen's final score with his son. I think the connection here is that Max is built like a linebacker, so it all just fits. Or it's Max's first Husky win... Or something like that. Whatever, go Dawgs!

Tummy time is much more fun with the new playmat Nana & Grandpa bought for Max!

I know I said I wouldn't insist that the whole "matching thing" continue on with our son. I mean, how much can you really match two girls and a boy, right? Never considered that Kyle would end up being the one matching his son all the time. We do not plan this, I swear!

Lots of family lovin' on the new arrival. Uncle Brian will get the special mention here, he came all the way from Dallas to see our little boy (ok that wasn't the ONLY reason he was here, but he still gets the shout-out).

Maddie girl turned two last month, but we delayed her party a few weeks so we could celebrate it properly after the birth of "brother". Kyle once again outdid himself with a fabulous cake, FROG theme, per Madeline's request. I get credit for finding the idea online :) We take turns making the kids' cakes, so Kyle is 2 for 2 with the girls last two birthdays, Barbie cake and now the Frog. Way to go honey... Sweet and sassy Maddie had a fun time at her party, even if she refused to blow out the candles.

Nana & Poppy gave the girls a wonderful treat for Maddie's birthday. A dress up box filled with treasures! They spent a long time just poring over everything and I swear I didn't hear a peep of disagreement between the two of them for almost two entire days. This is like my birthday :)

And I'll just leave you with one more. Hair clips & necklaces, that's what little girls are made of :)

Welcome baby boy

We welcomed our boy into the world on Aug 4th at 8:43 pm. Maddox Keevin Corrigan was 7 lb, 14 oz and 21 inches long. He came into the world suddenly ~ not sure he was totally prepared! Mom and babykins both survived some complications, including lack of oxygen and blood loss. But all ended sweetly with both of us on the mend and doing great now two weeks later. I thank you Jesus for watching over us and protecting us during those uncertain moments.

Older sisters Marin & Maddie are adoring their baby brother Max. "Can I hold him", "Can I touch him", "Can I tell him"... They are in love, as we all are. He is a sweet and calm baby who has almost no crying (except for diaper changes, WATCH OUT he might pee on you to get revenge... aaah boys, a whole new world).

We are adjusting to being a family of five, with the help of my mom who has come twice to assist and love on the kids. Thank you mom!!

God has blessed us, and we thank Him for the gift of our sweet Max.

So enjoy the pictures!

PS. Happy 2nd birthday Madeline! We are officially celebrating late this year with a party in September, but we did have a mini-celebration on her big day this week!

One last post before baby comes

It's official! I am being induced on Monday, so I thought I would do one last blogpost before all the baby pictures & frenzy of activity starts. My mom arrived in town Friday on the train, and my dad comes tomorrow. Hip hip hooray for reinforcements! I can't fully express how thankful Kyle are for all the help. It's amazing.

So a few pics from the last couple weeks... First, Madeline is turning into a CHARACTER! She is always making us laugh with her funny costumes she creates and "jokes" she tells. Classic youngest child entertaining us all :)

Marin completed her second round of swimming lessons last week. It's funny how that little piece of paper at the last class makes this girl grin from EAR TO EAR! Her little sis was quite the trooper for all those lessons, sitting contentedly in her stroller with her beloved bag of crackers. On the last day of class I took the girls to Baskin Robins to use our gift certificate we've been saving. Chocolate ice cream is MESSY. That's why I own stock in baby wipes. Love these girls!

Kyle smoked ribs in the backyard smoker. He made rib lollipos for us girls, and Marin thought that was about the best thing she had ever tasted.

One last picture of my two peas in a pod. Sitting in the buck in their buckets. Did you know it got up to 108 degrees in Portland? Happy suumer y'all! Baby pictures coming soon!
