Happy 13th birthday to Marin

We have a teenager in the house!! My firstborn baby girl, now officially on the road to adulthood. I blinked, and it happened. Not that all of those thirteen years of parenting actually  felt fast, because there were seasons I imagined diapers, pacifiers and holding hands in the parking lot would be endless. But then one day, you wake up and you have a teenager. And I LOVE TEENAGERS. They are the absolute best, and so far, Marin's teenage years are going great ;)

I'm so proud of her, and all that makes her unique. Her strength of character, her resilience, her fearlessness, her commitment to her health, her compassion towards injustice, her snarky humor, her creativity and her love of life. Dear God, thankyou for such an amazing daughter!!

She celebrated with birthday cereal, a surprise drop-in for a cupcake during the school day, and a bowling party with her besties after school!

Early morning breakfast cereal before school

Surprise mom visit to the middle school cafeteria.
The visit alone was entertainment for 1000 years.
