Special mom time

A few special moments with my babies... mother/daughter bracelets from Claire's, bookstore/hot chocolate date with some school besties, chunky shirtless Marcus, sunny fall park adventures, smooshed face selfies... Delight in the little things!

New house color!

The before and after of our house & it's new paint job ~ I know... dramatic! ;)

The three soccer amigos

This year we had all three of the older kids in soccer, which meant soccer five days a week, overlapping practices/games, and basically a crazy life for eight weeks. Good thing we LOVE fall soccer in this house! And the weather was insanely good this year, only one rained out day. You don't get much better than that in Oregon :) This is my trial run for "all the kids in sports at the same time"... and believe me, I am aware that this is the tip of the iceberg. Just wait til all four are in sports! Taxi mama, reporting for duty :)

So... confession - I am going to have to fight the obnoxious sports mom title, I just get so excited when I watch my kids play soccer!!!!

Max was in his first year, his team: "Lightning Bolts" - he is such a natural sports lover! He won the award on his team for "Most Attentive", and he really did pay so much attention to the drills, and worked hard to do them exactly right. His coach told him that he will go far with that skill! It made him feel pretty great :)

Madeline is in year two, her team: "Fierce Kittens" - what a big difference from last year (skipping, picking flowers, mostly interested in the "outfits" a.k.a. uniforms), and this year she won "Defender of the Year", where her coach said he could count on her the most to always go hard for the ball and never give up. WOW!!!

Marin also in year two, her team: "Blue Crystals" - continuing with her defender instincts, plus she got her first experience as goalie, and just exploded on the field as a leader in this new position. I will never forget one particular game where she had like 15 saves, and the images of her flying through the air, batting the ball out, charging fearlessly towards the opponents. I am so crazy proud of her. Maybe some goalie clinics are in her future if she continues to love it!

So there's the wrap - soccer is in their genes- it is FUN seeing your kids enjoy a sport that both Mom & Dad love :)

And Marcus... our little soccer mascot! Pictured here with his big buddy Ethan, the older brother of one of Marin's teammates, who kept him entertained through many a practice & game. He is such an awesome kid, his momma has a lot to be proud of!
