Big Island Hawaii

We took the kids on one last big trip to the Big Island, with everyone still living under this roof. We are definitely in the season where we have to let a lot of things go, because six adults/young adults/teenagers don't always picture "vacation" the same way. Our philosophy for this trip was to let people do the activities they wanted to do, which meant splitting up and enjoying Hawaii with whomever was feeling it. Paradise lol! We had four days in Hilo, and 8 days in Kona so we really got to experience the wide variety this beautiful place has to offer.  Highlights include black sand beach, the volcano park, Rainbow Falls, the farmers' market, "cliff" jumping on Coconut Island, swimming in the pool, swimming in the ocean, night snorkeling with manta rays (my #1 activity by far, it was breathtaking), surfing lessons, a horseback ride through the valley, a special luau, many amazing meals and beaches, tree climbing, celebrating Max's 15th birthday. Counting our blessings that we can take this family of ours on such a beautiful trip.
