Happy 9th Birthday Madeline

Happy 9th birthday to my little blonde bombshell Madeline Marie. She is so full of everything, including style, pizazz, creativity, sensitivity, keen observational skills, an ironclad memory, a sense of others, so much love, so much of every big feeling in fact... We love her so much, she is such a complex and intricate work of art, and such a blessing to our family,

On her birthday, she chose to taker her Mom and siblings to Alderbrook Park for a day of swimming, mini golf, volleyball, petting zoo, paddle boating, train rides, cotton candy, shaved ice, creek exploring, pirate ship climbing, bounce housing fun. Here's the thing about this park : THEY HAVE NO COFFEE BAR. They sell plenty of beer and hot dogs, but where is the caffeine people. The energy required for this day is off the chain. I love that despite this observation, I could (mostly) keep up with these four energetic kids! We shut the place down, rolling out of the parking lot 45 minutes after closing ;)

Daddy Daughter Fishing

The day after returning from Longbeach, the two dedicated fisher"men" in the family headed out together searching for fun. Of course, they had to stop at Tillamook Cheese Factory and Pelican Brewery for their favorite snacks. Not many fish biting on this particular river, but still lots of fun.

Root beer ;)

Annual Corrigan Vacation

We were back at Longbeach again with Corrigan extended fam, and we really loved being at the beach. Since we didn't camp at the beach this year, it was much anticipated to be back where the wind blows the kites, and the sand tickles the toes. We had pretty cool weather, but that didn't keep us from going to the beach every day, and walking into town several times a day. While the Olympics rolled in the background the entire week, we played bingo, mexican train, nertz, we had a tea party, played in the Funland arcade, enjoyed ice cream at Scoopers, ate lots of oysters, enjoyed donuts at the town bakery, spent fun money provided by Poppy
