Let the fall begin!

Busy fall has begun!

We got a fun surprise at the park recently with my moms group. The firetrucks were doing some drills, and when they saw all our kids come running they very graciously offered to let the kids explore the truck and take a picture! Love those guys!

The backyard is a source of never-ending treasures... Some edible, some not :)

My friend Sommer welcomed her baby girl Jewel into the world, and we had a fun baby shower at our house. Jewel and her mommy are SUCH a pair of beauties. LOVE those two.

We've had a big milestone around here. Our oldest, Marin, started preschool this year. Smiles, tears, and excitement galore. What a special thing for Marin to get her very own activity, separate from her brother and sister. Maddie is excited to have some special Mommy time too :) The schoolgirl's request for breakfast, her favorite: Rice Krispies!

Kyle was extremely, extremely excited about the Washington Huskies' win over USC. So much so that he took SEVERAL pictures of the TV screen's final score with his son. I think the connection here is that Max is built like a linebacker, so it all just fits. Or it's Max's first Husky win... Or something like that. Whatever, go Dawgs!

Tummy time is much more fun with the new playmat Nana & Grandpa bought for Max!

I know I said I wouldn't insist that the whole "matching thing" continue on with our son. I mean, how much can you really match two girls and a boy, right? Never considered that Kyle would end up being the one matching his son all the time. We do not plan this, I swear!

Lots of family lovin' on the new arrival. Uncle Brian will get the special mention here, he came all the way from Dallas to see our little boy (ok that wasn't the ONLY reason he was here, but he still gets the shout-out).

Maddie girl turned two last month, but we delayed her party a few weeks so we could celebrate it properly after the birth of "brother". Kyle once again outdid himself with a fabulous cake, FROG theme, per Madeline's request. I get credit for finding the idea online :) We take turns making the kids' cakes, so Kyle is 2 for 2 with the girls last two birthdays, Barbie cake and now the Frog. Way to go honey... Sweet and sassy Maddie had a fun time at her party, even if she refused to blow out the candles.

Nana & Poppy gave the girls a wonderful treat for Maddie's birthday. A dress up box filled with treasures! They spent a long time just poring over everything and I swear I didn't hear a peep of disagreement between the two of them for almost two entire days. This is like my birthday :)

And I'll just leave you with one more. Hair clips & necklaces, that's what little girls are made of :)
