I have two friends, Julie and Rebecca, who are also pregnant (we are all due within a month of each other), and we have all had very difficult beginnings to our pregnancy. It was with great joy and praise to God that we went out on the town recently, to celebrate "making it through" and having healthy babies still growing and developing. It is good to share in our trials and joys!

Snow in spring
Last snow of the year - a day before Spring! You can see the order of the pictures, it was a snow adventure and then the next day Marin is outside in her sundress & shades making a squirrel trap (more on that and other traps in a later blog)...

Free tickets to see Wicked!!
Kyle entered a drawing at work, and shockingly we WON four free tickets to see opening night of Wicked in downtown Portland! We saw this show a couple years ago, and it is far and away my favorite Broadway series production ever. We invited Kyle's parents to join us, and we were all so excited to see our amazing seats and enjoy another phenomenal show. I wish we would have gotten a pic of the four of us, but alas we were just too distracted with all sights, bustling people and my need to use the bathroom at every opportunity. The music is just sooooo good, and the whole plot & storyline is so clever and hilarious. Someday I want to see Wicked in NYC, someday!
Marin's Dance Class
Marin's school got a special grant, and as a result the kids got to have several weeks of "dance class" during their regular school day. I took a quick survey, and the boys in the class were clearly not as excited as the girls about this. Secretly I think they all enjoyed it :) The instructor was a real ballerina from Oregon Ballet Theater and Marin absolutely loved it. They had a small "viewing" on the last day for the parents, just in the school gym... Marin is a ham, totally loving the camera... :)
Maddie's Half Birthday
You have to love preschool when it celebrates your half birthday. Maddie enjoyed lots of spoiling in her class, and it just happened to be my day to volunteer too! Love to see my little girl light up and feel special :)
Visit w/ our Bellingham cousins
My sister's fam came for a long weekend recently... We hadn't seen them in FOREVER, since they were in Kenya for Christmas and it had just been a long time before that too... Even with several months in between visits, our kids just jump right back into BFF Cousin status :)
So for our BFF Cousin weekend, here are some snapshots of the kids playing! Parents of course were groggy eyed and unable to pose for much :) xoxo to my family!
Reading Olympics
Marin's school had Reading Olympics to challenge the kids to read a ton in the weeks leading up to the national "Read Across America" day. For kindergarteners, the minutes they earned were a mix of them reading to you & you reading to them... big time commitment! Our girl earned a gold medal AND a bronze, she was so proud! I love my little reader.

It's a boy!
We are so excited... Our baby coming in July is a boy! What a special treat for our family, we will be all rounded out now with two girls and two boys. Kyle's fears of being outnumbered with a houseful of ladies, can now be put to rest... There is going to be plenty of boy energy around here! We can't wait to start planning for our new arrival. God has blessed us, yet again!
